    Theorem

    Let L\mathcal{L} be a cocycle on a separable Banach space XX over an invertible ergodic base (Ω,σ,μ)(\Omega, \sigma, \mu), and (L,λ,m,E,V,Π)(L, \lambda, m, E, V, \Pi) an Oseledets decomposition of it. Write ζn=σ−nω\zeta_n = \sigma^{-n}\omega, so that Lζn(n)\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n} carries the fibre over ζn\zeta_n forward to the fibre over ω\omega. Then for almost every ω\omega:

    1. (fast spaces, from below) for i<Li < L and every real a<λia < \lambda_i, eventuallyg(Lζn(n),Ei(ζn))≥ean;g\big(\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n}, E_i(\zeta_n)\big) \ge e^{an};
    2. (the whole space, from above) for every real b>λ1b > \lambda_1, eventually ∥Lζn(n)∥≤ebn\|\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n}\| \le e^{bn};
    3. (slow spaces, from above) for 2≤l≤L2 \le l \le L and every real b>λlb > \lambda_l, eventually ∥Lζn(n)v∥≤ebn∥v∥\|\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n} v\| \le e^{bn}\|v\| for all v∈Vl(ζn)v \in V_l(\zeta_n).

    These are the backward counterparts of the forward growth rates in the decomposition: the forward statements hold at a fixed base point as n→∞n \to \infty, whereas here the base point σ−nω\sigma^{-n}\omega moves with nn.

    In Lean, σ−nω\sigma^{-n}\omega is (R.σ.symm:Ω→Ω)[n]ω(R.σ.symm : Ω → Ω)^[n] ω.

    8Let L\mathcal{L} be a cocycle on a separable Banach space XX over an invertible ergodic base
    9(Ω,σ,μ)(\Omega, \sigma, \mu), and (L,λ,m,E,V,Π)(L, \lambda, m, E, V, \Pi) an Oseledets decomposition of it.
    10Write ζn=σ−nω\zeta_n = \sigma^{-n}\omega, so that Lζn(n)\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n} carries the fibre
    11over ζn\zeta_n forward to the fibre over ω\omega. Then for almost every ω\omega:
    12
    131. (*fast spaces, from below*) for i<Li < L and every real a<λia < \lambda_i, eventually
    14 g(Lζn(n),Ei(ζn))≥ean;g\big(\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n}, E_i(\zeta_n)\big) \ge e^{an};
    152. (*the whole space, from above*) for every real b>λ1b > \lambda_1, eventually
    16 ∥Lζn(n)∥≤ebn\|\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n}\| \le e^{bn};
    173. (*slow spaces, from above*) for 2≤l≤L2 \le l \le L and every real b>λlb > \lambda_l, eventually
    18 ∥Lζn(n)v∥≤ebn∥v∥\|\mathcal{L}^{(n)}_{\zeta_n} v\| \le e^{bn}\|v\| for all v∈Vl(ζn)v \in V_l(\zeta_n).
    19
    20These are the backward counterparts of the forward growth rates in the decomposition: the
    21forward statements hold at a fixed base point as n→∞n \to \infty, whereas here the base point
    22σ−nω\sigma^{-n}\omega moves with nn.
    23
    24In Lean, σ−nω\sigma^{-n}\omega is `(R.σ.symm : Ω → Ω)^[n] ω`.
